Did you know you can make your own sour cream? Try it!
2 cups cream
1/2 cup buttermilk
DIRECTIONS
Mix together ingredients and place in a clean jar. (Make sure the jar is freshly washed and free of detergent residue.) Cover with a paper towel secured with a rubber band. Place off to the side in a draft-free area out of the direct sun to ferment for 24-48 hours.
When it’s ready, there will be a film of thick cream on top and a layer of translucent liquid at the bottom. Whisk it well until homogenized and creamy. Place in refrigerator to chill before using. Will keep for 2-3 weeks.
